Learn about our services

  • Individuals seek psychotherapy for a variety of reasons. Some find themselves navigating significant life changes, such as the ending of a relationship, unemployment, divorce, or starting a new job, and may struggle to cope with the associated stress. Others require support in managing issues like low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, relationship conflicts, spiritual dilemmas, and other mental health difficulties.

Psychotherapy offers valuable assistance by providing encouragement and equipping individuals with the necessary skills to navigate through these challenging periods. Some individuals may be at a juncture where they are eager to explore and understand themselves better or enhance their effectiveness in achieving life goals. Those seeking psychotherapy are prepared to confront the challenges in their lives and are motivated to instigate positive changes.

  • Dr. Colón takes pride in ensuring a strong connection with her clients (goodness of fit). Before setting up the initial intake appointment, there will be a brief discussion about the areas you'd like to address in therapy. She specializes in addressing a range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship distress, burnout, and anxiety related to career changes. In some cases, Dr. Colón may suggest that another clinician would be a better match for your needs, and she will offer appropriate referrals.

Our ultimate aim is to assist individuals in finding the most suitable therapist, even if it means recommending someone outside of Magnolia Wellness Center.

  • All meetings are conducted virtually, providing the convenience of connecting from the comfort of your own home.

Sessions typically last between 52 and 54 minutes, aligning with insurance regulations. If you prefer extended sessions, the cost will be adjusted proportionally based on the agreed-upon duration, and such sessions are generally not covered by insurance.

Consistent weekly engagement tends to yield the most effective therapeutic results. Your clinician may suggest adjusting the frequency on an individual basis as needed.

  • We are in-network (INN) with BCBS PPO and BCBS Blue Choice PPO. If BCBS is not your provider, there's a likelihood of reimbursement for your sessions upon submitting the required documentation to your insurance. Upon request, I can furnish you with the necessary paperwork for your insurance provider's reimbursement process.

For prospective clients, I recommend reaching out to the contact number on the back of your insurance card. Request a representative on the mental health/behavioral health side, and ask the following inquiries:

Does your plan cover mental health services?

What is the annual deductible for mental health benefits?

How does your policy handle mental health benefits regarding deductible, copay, coinsurance, or a combination of these responsibilities?

Does your policy require prior authorization for coverage?

Is there a cap on the number of covered sessions per year?

What is the reference number for your inquiry?

Additionally, it's valuable to learn the process for submitting Super Bills to your insurance.

If I am not in-network with your insurance provider, if you lack insurance, or if you choose not to utilize it for services, I will furnish you with a Good Faith Estimate in compliance with the No Surprises Act.

  • In order to deliver top-tier care to both you and all our clients, we provide our services at a fixed rate determined by the clinician's expertise. Therapy represents an investment of your time, finances, and energy, and you are entitled to an exceptional experience in return. By directing our attention towards your treatment rather than financial discussions, we aim to maximize the value of your investment.

  • The initial session offers an opportunity for a face-to-face (via tele-health) introduction. During this meeting, Dr. Colón will conduct a thorough intake interview, considering your personal history, current issues, and your expectations for the therapeutic process. Should you have particular therapy goals or aspirations, you are encouraged to discuss them. Together, you will address any questions or concerns about therapy and collaboratively devise a plan for moving forward. If both parties agree to proceed, the actual therapy will commence in the subsequent session. However, if at any point you or your therapist believe that continued collaboration may not be the most suitable option, we will furnish you with specific referrals based on the comprehensive intake provided.

  • You’re welcome to follow our professional social media pages once established. However, we do not engage in following, befriending, commenting, responding, or establishing similar connections on social media with clients, their family members, or friends. We kindly request that you avoid sending connection requests. This policy is implemented to safeguard your confidentiality and privacy. Should you opt to follow us on social media, please be aware that it is done at your own discretion. It's important to note that social media is not a suitable means of contacting us, for any reason, especially in the case of emergencies.

  • Initiating services involves a structured process, and it is essential to assess compatibility for collaboration. Please note that we are unable to accommodate next-day or emergency appointments for new clients due to the time required for this procedure.

It's important to emphasize that Magnolia Wellness Center is not an emergency care facility. In the event of a mental health emergency, please dial 911 or visit the nearest emergency room. This encompasses situations involving suicidal or homicidal thoughts or attempts. For non-emergency crisis and distress situations, you may reach out to 988 or visit 988lifeline.org for assistance via chat.
